Below, Race Director, Robert "Bob" Moore instructs the Captains of each Taplin Team about what to do and what NOT to do!...

Kudos to this Ocean Lifeguard below who was ready for this shot somehow and whose expression captures the enthusiasm of the Taplin Relay!...

...and in anticipation of some of our viewers wondering who is the LACo OL-Taplin Swimmer below... its none other than Max Jaben...

Below, LACo OL, Toby Contarsy, the lead off paddler for the LACo Central Section Taplin
Team rides out the white water while maintaining the lead that their swimmers accomplished...

Meanwhile, So. Section paddler, LACo OL, Tucker Hopkins, hands off to their third paddler, OLS Spencer Parker... and they are gaining on Central!...

The boats are away after So. Section caught up to Central after their final paddler, Shane Gallas, tore out and back to the beach...

Sadly, the race was over after the first So. Section dory leg, rowed by Jeff Hart and Mike O'Donnell as they powered through their lap at the speed of light... meanwhile the Central Section first dory
struggled to row with the same agility and speed...

Below, Zuma's dory teams were impressive as usual, though they were a bit back of both So. Section and Central Section Taplin teams... still they looked strong!

The hand off-tag of the final dory team for So. Section, below...

So. Section's Dave Cartlidge and Tom Seth power out through the surf line uncontested on the final leg of the Taplin Relay...

And So. Section wins it !

Full Disclosure re photo below showing So. Section Taplin Team Paddler-OL Tucker Hopkins shocking tan line!...   :-)  ... as their final dory finishes and Tom Seth runs up the berm with his arms raised, sealing their Victory in the 2015 Taplin Relay!

Below, OL Tuckin Hopkins, rings the Taplin Bell!

Below, Veteran LACo OL, Mike O'Donnell, rings the bell 13 times!

OL Jeff Lombardo, styling in RockStar board shorts, rings the bell 3 times!

Veteran LACo OL, Mel Solberg, rings the bell 17 times!...

OLS, David Cartlidge, rings the bell a bunch of times... we lost count/can't remember... 7 or 9 we think.

... and last but not least, Capt. Tom Seth rings the Taplin Bell 16 times!

*** Congratulations to the Southern Section Taplin Team for its second year in a row Victory! ***  Their dory teams smoked the competition.  It was neck and neck after the paddlers and all but over
after the first leg of the dorys'.  Heads up to Central Taplin Managers: regular dory workouts starting when summer schedules begin or just forget about it (C.R. opinion only).

Post-Taplin Photos & The After Party at THE DECK, hosted by LACo OL-Entrepreneur and Restaurant Impressario, Kevin Barry...

 #TACOS!...

Central Section Swimmers-Beer Pong Contestants...

Below, the dude in the black t-shirt has played this game before!...

... and so this guy, below, who was out in the back alley and hearing the noise of the beer pong game looks in and starts talking to us... so obviously I have to take his photo!... He freaks out, laughs hysterically and then runs off into the night!... True story!

The off duty guard below has also played this game before!...

He can even throw it underhanded and score a bucket!... just sayin'... I know his father is proud!  :-)

Oh Yeah!... this game is Gnarly!... and is that Lacey Rose at right who is "next game up"?!...

The Thrill of Victory at the after party... Legendary LACo OL-Phd, Mike O'Donnell, at left below, savors the moment!  He is the quintessential ocean warrior !  He should bottle up some "O'DONNELL™" testosterone booster energy bottle shots... after he retires, of course.
