Dateline: 0830 hrs... Tuesday morning, Sept. 27, 2016, at Venice South... for a short soft sand run to the Venice Pier from the Venice Garage plus a swim at Ave 26... with a camera in hand, of course.....
No sooner did we start our run than we saw an off duty OLS heading back to the Venice Garage before his shift..... Do you recognize him? Clues: his wife is a recurrent and an attorney and he prefers an IPA, albeit, off duty...
Yessiree... near head high at the Venice Pier...
And then along came the Venice South OLS, Scott DeBoer.....
Below, a local zigzagging his way to the Pier for a surf session...
Below, a beach patron points to the ocean and asks the lifeguard if that is the Pacific Ocean... :-)
note: Full Disclosure... actually, off duty LACo OL Toby Contarsy wanted to know what happened to the Red Flag Buoy off of Ave 26?... which went missing late last week.....
Back at the Venice Garage.....
Below, left to right, OL Bill White checks out a paddleboard and Assnt. Lifeguard Chief, Fernando Boiteux, is in the background fielding a call on his mobile...
Bill is working Navy St. today and will be driving the Honda ATV at right below (aka, the "side by side")... which we think needs another nickname. Any ideas?... Can't call it the HONDA because of the Honda pwc/jetski at left below...
And one more for the road... have a look at this set wave at the Venice Pier with no one on it!.....
