It has been said that we should wear the world like a loose garment... which our very own LACo OL, Mike Peoples, seems to have definitely mastered! :-) #woohoo
Arriving early and before his shift yesterday at SMS Tower #16, OL Peoples prepares for the day with his fashion meditation... #keepsmilingdude
Our day took us, however, to Marina Del Rey, for a "movie job" which had us stalking both a talent boat and a camera boat while aboard one of the LACo Sheriff's boats (with Deputy Sheriff/MDR Harbormaster, Frank Ruiz at the wheel below, at right) and the marine safety coordinator for the movie job, Bob Anderson (at left below).
While following the production boats, we got to briefly stalk on of our own LACoFD Lifeguard Op. Baywatch rescue boats as it cruised out of the harbor too!...

Stalking Baywatch: The Video
Below, L2R, on the Sheriff's boat at the conclusion of the movie shoot, LACo Deputy Sheriff/MDR Harbormaster, Frank Ruiz, with marine safety coordinator, Bob Anderson...
After the movie shoot, we returned to CSHQ to turn in our paperwork on the "movie job"... which by the way is "hush hush" and about which we were required to sign an "NDA" (Non Disclosure Agreement). I signed it "Abraham Lincoln" and conditioned that with "Reserving All Rights"... (just kidding) but our lips are sealed nonetheless on the production itself, its actors, its story line, etc. et al.
After turning in our paperwork, I headed out to SMS Tower #16 to take a swim to cool off and noticed it was very busy and found Mike Peoples with Capt. Eugene Atanasio watching the water like hawks..... there is a reoccurring rip current just to the south of Tower #16 and Mike was making a great many rescues, some of which he described as 'very intense" with people in the water who shouldn't be and who couldn't swim at all... For example, I returned from the swim to find his tower empty and did a 180 and located Mike in the water about 40 yards out with two victims he was trying to corral. I hit the water and helped out with the kid on the body board who Mike told me later was praying out loud when he got to him!...

A very busy day indeed! In three hours, a bunch of preventions and five rescues...
