You only have to be 16 years old to work for the State of California as a beach lifeguard in Huntington Beach and I believe it!... This kid has got to be 16 max but he was watching the water like a hawk and later I noticed him toweling off after hitting the water and making a rescue.....
Age Group Men line up for the surf swim!... LACo OL Mike O'Donnell, just right of center frame with his right hand up... Mike would take third in a crowded and talented field... and first in his age group! What a warrior!
Open Women's Beach Flags elimination round of four.....
Artsy shot below that somehow got overexposed but did capture Diane Graner's hat and sunglasses in the foreground quite nicely...
We stuck around for the open men's surfski and then split so we missed the surf boat races which must have been a hoot with the surf and lateral current.
It was a great day in spite of the fog which erased any visual sightlines of the competition flags and buoys for much of the morning......
