As broadcast via County Recurrent's email push technology this past Monday, Sept. 27th,

LACOLA guards to Egypt on Friday

Per County Recurrent Freelance Reporter, Adam Sandler, our lifeguard-athletes will be boarding their plane this friday on their way to Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs, Sphinxes and Cleopatra.

"Hey Will,

Maybe it's a good thing we've had these extreme temperatures this week? The seven LACOLA guards (of a 12-member team) competing in Alexandria, Egypt next week will have to compete in high temps in the region that are expected be in the mid to upper 80's -- with overnight lows in the mid 70s and humidity readings almost as high -- as they represent the United States while competing in the Lifesaving World Championships. As they get in their final workouts in LA this week, perhaps this weather has given them an idea of what to expect.

As you know, the event will take place on Momoura Beach from Oct. 2 to 17.

LIFESAVING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Rescue 2010

http://www.Rescue2010.com

More than 4,000 athletes have registered from countries such as Australia, Liberia, Argentina and Jamaica.

We should wish them all Save Travel, God Speed, and Good Luck. Btw, they leave on Friday.

Perhaps someone should mention (moi?) that one of the primary reasons the USA are fighting it out in the B finals is that the teams in the A finals had very little to do for the last six months except train for these championships. It was winter after all in those three countries. France and Italy field championship lifeguard teams made up of ???
