Off duty OL Colin Goddard livin' the dream with a French Press, no less!... after finishing his pre-shift workout...
note: Great story about Colin. It was Saturday, June 18th, the day before summer schedules started, and Colin was working an overtime shift at SMS Tower #26. I was next door at Tower #27. It had already been a busy, hectic day due to the increased surf and the numerous and deep inshore holes all along SMS. In the late afternoon, a swimmer slipped into a deep inshore hole out front of Tower #26 and Colin saw it and the swimmer was immediately climbing the ladder and going down for the count... All I saw at first was a blur in my peripheral vision on my right side and then I turned my head and I saw Colin on the ramp at 100 mph and running like Usain Bolt (UB) to the water where he took two steps and then made a running/leaping shallow dive straight into the inshore hole and came up the victim in his left hand. It was over practically before it started!... I barely had time to drop my jaw!... So I was thinking that this summer's Central Section
"UB Code 3 Righteous Rescue Award" should go to Colin!
