Venice Going Off!...

Proof that the Burnside rescue can, indeed, does float!... Woo Hoo!...

Huge Rips, lateral currents, rescues, boat assists, on duty lifeguards, retired lifeguards slumming it at Ave-26.... photos & videos...  get comfortable cuz you are in for a real treat...

Dateline: Sat., July 11, 2015... off duty foot patrol patrol from SMS Tower #28 to Driftwood and back... with a minor detour to the Poke Joint on the Venice Boardwalk on the return trip...

We brought out the Nikon DSLR today along with the bulletproof all weather Nikon Coolpix and even shot a couple of photos with our new Lumix with a Leica lens...

And then a rip catches two swimmers off of Ave 26...



Two guards hit the water...


Fortunately, the cavalry is nearby...

Both swimmers made it safely to shore. One on their own and the other rescued by OLS JVD off of the rescue boat and handed off to the Ave 26 guard...  Meanwhile, the guard from the Pier had some fun getting back to shore...



And then one of the Dept's jetskis piloted by one of our lifeguards was launched just south of the Ave  23 jetty for use in assisting with rescues along the Avenues, etc...

And check out the guns on Baywatch Rescue Boat Captain-Paramedic, Jay Butki! Jay was teamed up with OLS-Paramedic, Dylan Jones, today on one of the Baywatch rescue boats which I discovered when I swam out there to where the boat was tied up at the SMS Tower #26 buoy...
