Dateline: Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Mid day... along Santa Monica South on a low tide, I found a sand dollar, a type of sea urchin(see below).
note: the small shell in the photo immediately below at the bottom right...

I washed it in the sink thereafter and placed it on the passenger seat in my car where it sat for the next couple of hours. When I returned to my car around 6 pm and was driving I noticed something out of my peripheral vision... something was moving in my passenger seat!... A tiny organism (aka, hitchhiker) in the tiny shell attached to the sand dollar was peeking out, back and forth..... (see below).
Below, the tiny organism can be seen below at the top of the shell, it is colored pale yellow...
In addition, I shot this short video showing the hitchhiker moving up and down in the shell!...

Not wanting to drive back to the beach and since I was close to an aquarium store in Santa Monica, I went by there and offered it up to the store owner who then placed it in a salt water aquarium in his shop (see photos and video below).
