OL Lance Keene & The Baby Elephant Seal...

Dateline: Venice Beach, California.  Saturday, April 15, 2017.  OL Lance Keene is on duty at Navy St. and has one of the department's atv's (aka, the mule) and he has responded to SMS Tower #29 where an approximately one month old baby elephant seal has beached itself.  Lance called for Animal Rescue which later showed up and took the seal in for observation and rehabilitation.  Well done, Lance!

Here are the photos and videos... of course, which I took while off duty and before my shift that day...

Navy St. at approximately 10 a.m. on my way to the Venice Breakwater followed by Zelda's Corner Deli for the mini-donuts...  Here is Lance who unbeknownst to him... he will be responding to the elephant seal beaching itself a little over an hour later...
