#TGIF & the Venice JG's C Group...

Dateline: Venice Beach at Ave 23 & Ave 26... Friday, July 27, 2018... while on an off duty workout, we observed a daily JG Instructor hire out of So. Section working with the C group... noneother than OL Kevin Fink (who recently graduated from U.C. San Diego, by the way)... Additionally, leading the C Group this summer/this session is OL Marcus Ridout (shown wearing a hoodie)...

During this huddle the instructors informed the C's of their first ocean training exercise for the day, namely, high stepping and dolphining out through the white wash where they would make a right shoulder turn around Kevin and then return to shore and run up the beach around Marcus.  Three times...  It was a challenging exercise for this new batch of C's since there was some good size surf that they had to deal with on the way out and back to shore.

Venice Beach: Surfs Up + BeachTrash + JG's...

Dateline: At and after 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Ave 26 and Ave 18 at Venice Beach...

The first thing I noticed this morning walking near the water's edge was all the assorted #beachtrash that littered the sand and was left uncollected by the L.A. County Dept. of Beaches and Harbors...
The second thing I noticed was the graffiti on the lifeguard tower at Ave 26 (above).  The third thing I noticed was the set waves starting to roll through at Ave 26...

... and then it was time to head to the office but not before stopping at the Aussie "Great White Venice" Cafe at Windward and Pacific, next to MOLLUSK surf shop... for the avocado toast and a flat white...
