Dateline: Saturday morning, October 28, 2017... from SMS 28 to the Venice Pier along the shoreline and a return trip along the famed Venice Boardwalk... under overcast skies believe it or not!...

#Beachtrash near the water's edge at Ave 21 uncollected by the L.A. County Dept. of Beaches & Harbors... because they do not have anyone actually walk along the shoreline every day to hand pick up #beachtrash and since the tractors are not permitted to operate near the water's edge, LACDBH often ignores #beachtrash near the water's edge... which continues to represent a threat to public health and safety...

Meanwhile, I noticed two lifeguard vehicles at the berm just south of Navy St. attending to what turned out to be a female surfer with an unknown injury...

And then I hit the road...  but not before stopping for gas at the Chevron station on PCH at Santa Monica Canyon across the beach from Will Rogers State Beach and Tower #18... and who do I see parked there?... none other than Delilah (the 4wd Mitsubishi Delani) that we first were introduced to a week ago parked on Main St. in El Segundo across from TWO GUNS ESPRESSO...

I guess we now know that OL Jason Masho is working WR18 today.

SMS: 80's Air Temp AND 64 Water Temp...

Dateline: Wednesday morning around 11 a.m., October 25, 2017 at SMS Tower #16... with the ongoing HEAT WAVE still baking Southern California, I ventured out to the water's edge and took a swim... The air temp was in the 80's and according to my old school pool thermometer it was 64 Degrees in the ocean but with the air temp being so gosh darn hot it didn't feel like 64 degrees.  Just sayin'...

Still a bit of elevated surf out of the SSW with a fairly strong left to right lateral pushing towards the Santa Monica Pier...

Santa Monica North is Scorching HOT!...

Dateline: 2:45pm, Monday afternoon, October 23, 2017, from the bluffs above Santa Monica North.  How hot is it?!  Ninety-Five Degrees (95 Degrees Fahrenheit) and Scorching HOT!... and with very little wind.  Yep, and it's a DRY HEAT all right!...

SMN Tower #12 below is open for business and evidently has some surf because the water is moving laterally and there are a couple of rip currents nearby...
