Lacey Beatie To The Rescue...

Dateline: Friday afternoon, April 22, 2016 at Santa Monica South Tower #24... while on an off duty workout and minding our own business we observed on duty OL Lacey Beatie on a workout out front of SMS Tower #24... when she stopped, looked out and observed a swimmer in a rip and then proceeded to grab her rescue can and effect a successful rescue of said swimmer in the Ginormous Inshore Hole and Rip that has been hanging out adjacent to Tower #24 and that we have blogged about previously here a couple of times.....

In the middle of it... Lacey with the victim holding onto the rescue can...

OLS Mike Murphy standing by on the berm watching Lacey's successful extraction of the victim from the surf...

The victim walks off safely while Lacey makes a few adjustments to her rescue can, etc...

Lacey Beattie, cool, calm and collected, after the rescue at her tower watching the water.....

On our way back to CSHQ... we got an opportunity to take some photos of some of the other guards working SMS... including OL Chris at SMS Tower #20

*** This might be my favorite shot of the day showing LACo OL Chris Zangara watching the water with the flag waving and the Santa Monica city skyline and mountains beyond...  ***

Use your binoculars!... Well done, Chris!

OL JP (John Paul) at SMS Tower #17, watching the water (with a cameo by his "Urban Barrels" combination beach towel/backpack on the railing...)

... and OL Jacob Smith at SMS Tower #16, watching the water, and observing the bell curve in the sky which may or may not be a premonition of the current economic health of our nation...  just sayin'...

Meanwhile, back at CSHQ we observed the new Section Chief (Section 6) in his vehicle in the garage.....

Until next time.....
