King Tide Minus Tide Yule Tide...

Dateline: Monday, December 14, 2020 at approx. 4 pm and shortly thereafter from the bluffs overlooking Will Rogers State Beach, WRHQ and Will Rogers Tower 8 showing the MINUS TIDE (-1.64) this afternoon during the KING TIDES of December 2020.  (note: the alternate title for this particular blog post in deference to veteran Southern Section OL Tom Fink is "Will Rogers Overview, Dec. 2020" in recognition of his interest in Will Rogers blog posts from "County Recurrent"....   :-)   ).

Who Are Those Guys?!.. surfing at Will Rogers Tower 10?

All right, who remembers BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID?... and that oft repeated line of dialogue, "Who are those guys"?...

Well, that is exactly what I asked this afternoon while on a walk along Will Rogers State Beach from the bike/pedestrian path at Will Rogers Tower 10 when I noticed two guys out surfing the south side of the jetty and up above in the parking lot two separate vehicles with County Parking Passes and lifeguard hats on the dashboards... see below.....

and after that I continued on toward Tower 8 at Temescal Cyn. Road and PCH and discovered veteran LACo OL (and retired U.S. Marine), Eric Weizenegger, watching the water like a hawk.

Avenue C Audit...

Ave. C. way, way, way in the distance as observed from the bluffs above Will Rogers State Beach...

Dateline: Wed., July 22, 2020 around 10 a.m...  The "County Recurrent" editorial staff drove down to Southern Section this morning to check out Ave. C and to take a swim... and yes, the water was COLD!... but there were some nice warm spots on the swim from Ave. H to Ave. C and back to Ave. H.

Shout out to the ELKS Club which hosts our Alumni every year (usually) AND where most infamously, Joel Gitelson (OLS, Ret.) hung up his speedos and where his retirement was celebrated (see link below)...
